This bread is prepared just like a cake, but is very delicious for breakfast.
2 cups all purpose flour
¾ cup oat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ cup brown sugar
2 cups finely chopped dates
1 cup milk
1 beaten egg
½ cup molasses
1 tablespoon melted butter
Preheat oven to 350º F. Butter a loaf pan 9 x 5 inches.
Blend the two flours, baking powder, baking soda, brown sugar and dates. Mix well in order to separate the dates.
Stir molasses, milk, egg and butter. Add to the preparation of dry ingredients and mix.
Pour into pan and cook 1 hour 15 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out nearly clean.
Cool for 15 minutes before serving.
